Lena Pomford is a Liverpool-born artist based in Kent and a graduate of Goldsmiths University of London. Known for her large, playful, colourful and often humorous paintings that explore the emotional and psychological challenges of everyday life that invite conversation and reflection. 

Her recent work moves between biomorphic shapes, figurative imagery and talismanic forms, delving into ideas of ‘the image and its undoing’ through layers of memory, intuition and subconscious association. Human experience remains at the centre of her work, a fascination that stems from the artist's background at drama school, where expression, performance, and play became essential ways of understanding the world.

She has had several solo exhibitions in London and has exhibited in international group shows, including the Secci Gallery in Pietrasanta, Italy. Pomford holds a BA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths University, a PGCE in Art and Design from Goldsmiths University, and a HND in Fine Art from Kensington and Chelsea College and a  Foundation in Art & Design from Liverpool Community College.
