I painted Two Blue Dogs while thinking about a dog I loved and lost. At the same time, I was trying to become stronger, to grow a thicker skin. For me, the painting is about grief and courage existing together, because often that's what life asks of us, the two figures protecting each other wearing their emotional armour.
