The act of scraping back the paint is a process of excavation. I remove rather than add, uncovering the fabric embedded beneath the painted skin. What emerges are fragments that feel both exposed and protected, like memories surfacing through layers of concealment. The painting becomes a place where veils are lifted and hidden structures are made visible, suggesting that identity is not found on the surface but in what lies beneath it.
